New for 2008 - the
EDYSL U8 Academy!

This program is designed to reach out to
children under the age of eight to introduce
them to the world’s number 1 sport, Soccer!
This program looks to encourage talented
young players to join so that they are able
to experience a structured and professional
training environment carried out by our
Academy staff.
It is our hope that we can provide these
players with a platform to progress to the
next stage of their soccer development. In
this way, the U8 Academy acts as a
‘stepping-stone’ or ‘feeder’ program,
providing players with a smooth transition
into U9 Recreational, Select, or even
Competitive Soccer.
It is the vision of the Academy to create U8
boys and girls teams in the main clubs that
make up the El Dorado Youth Soccer League:
El Dorado Hills (EDH), Prospector (PSC) and
Placerville clubs (SGSC/HS/GN).
These teams will receive once a week
training on a series of technical topics and
will participate in a once a month 4v4
Jamboree against the other U8 Academy teams
that are formed.
At present, we already have players signed
up and participating weekly in the program;
players that that were identified during the
2007 ALL STARS program, or those that
attended the U8 Academy Play Date held in
early April.
Sessions are currently taking place every
Friday evening: 5pm – 6.30pm at Tennis Court
Field, Steven Harris Memorial, El Dorado
Hills (directions).
As numbers increase, it is our aim be divide
players by club so that we can hold separate
training sessions in each area; El Dorado
Hills, Cameron Park, Placerville and Cool.
To sign-up, simply come out and join us on
the night!
